CrossFit athletes have trained for years for the “unknown and the unknowable.” And while that helps for building both strength and endurance, there hasn’t yet been a real global benchmark to show for it. The CrossFit Open and The Games changes every year. Each local CrossFit competition is different. As a result, there’s never been a standardized, repeatable way to measure where you stand as an athlete. And that’s where XENOM comes in.

Officially launched in February 2026, XENOM (pronounced “zee-nom”) is the Decathlon of Fitness. It’s a new stadium-scale global competition series for CrossFit and functional fitness athletes. The first competition of its kind features ten fixed events that take place over two days. Athletes get a stadium experience, a global score, and a format to train toward with real intention.

Each competitor’s Elite Performance Index (EPI) follows them from event to event, and season to season. That means athletes are not just competing against whoever showed up that weekend. Instead, they’re competing against a standard, and building a record of how they measure up over time.

Get ready, because Season 001 is already underway.

What Makes XENOM Different

Unlike The CrossFit Open, The CrossFit Games, or local competitions, XENOM has a locked format. The same 10 events happen at every competition, in every city, every time. Each athlete competes under the same standards, indoors, in a purpose-built area. This takes away things like weather variables, surprise formats, and home-field advantage.

In many ways, this is likely why XENOM has been described as HYROX for CrossFitters.

In addition, scoring is connected between events and seasons. In a typical CrossFit season, someone’s Open score in March doesn’t correlate to their score at Quarterfinals, Semifinals, or The Games. Even Semifinals events across the globe feature different workouts.

XENOM Scoring: Your Elite Performance Index

Every athlete who competes in XENOM finishes with an Elite Performance Index (EPI) score. Think of it like decathlon scoring in track and field. Each of the 10 events has an elite benchmark worth 1,000 points. An athlete’s performance is calculated as a percentage of that benchmark, and they can score above 1,000 if they beat it.

A competitor’s total across all 10 events is what determines their EPI. It’s one number that captures the complete athletic profile, weighted so that improvements in strength count as much as improvements in endurance. The EPI is tied to the athlete’s division and category. It travels with them between competitions, and compounds over seasons.

For example, let’s say someone competes in the Dallas XENOM event in June, and then comes back in London in August. Their EPI will tell them exactly where they got better and where they may have left points on the table. For athletes who’ve been chasing progress in gym programming for years, this is the first score that actually means something repeatable.

The 10 Events

XENOM tests everything from maximal strength to gymnastics and aerobic capacity across the two-day weekend. Here is a high-level view of the 10 events:

  • 001 – 1RM (one-rep max) Snatch
  • 002 – Ascending ladder AMRAP of Wall Walks and Rope Climbs
  • 003 – 1:00 (60 seconds) max calories on the Rogue Echo Bike
  • 004 – Barbell Cycling
  • 005 – 2,000 meter Echo Ski + 3,000 meter Run
  • 006 – TBA
  • 007 – Toes to Bar (T2B), Dumbbell Hang Snatch, Muscle-Ups
  • 008 – AMRAP of Burpees, Echo Ski and Echo Bike
  • 009 – Heavy Clean Ladder
  • 010 – Handstand Push-Ups (HSPU), Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups (C2B), Dumbbell Lunges

Rogue Fitness is the official XENOM equipment supplier and will be unveiling a brand-new piece of competition-grade equipment as part of the full event reveal.

Which Division is Right for You?

XENOM has three divisions, available for both individuals and same-sex pairs.

  1. Elite Division is invitation-only and carries the highest technical standards. This is the top of the competitive ladder.
  2. RX Division is for experienced functional fitness athletes who are comfortable with ring muscle-ups, kipping handstand push-ups, and heavier barbell loads. Recommended for athletes that have been competing in CrossFit for several years already.
  3. Compete Division uses scaled movements and lighter loads, but the experience is identical. This division still requires all 10 events to be completed for athletes to receive a full EPI score.

Not sure where you land? If you’re typically scaling workouts or doing CrossFit beginner WODs in your gym at home, Compete is a great division to start. On the other hand, competitive athletes can look at the standards listed in the Elite and RX divisions to determine which one is your best place to start.

Your normal CrossFit gym workouts can help you determine which division to compete in.

XENOM Season 001 Details

The inaugural XENOM competition kicks off June 27-28, 2026, at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The venue is the world headquarters and training complex of the Dallas Cowboys, transformed into a purpose-built fitness arena with integrated athlete camps and recovery zones.

After the Dallas event, Season 001 moves to:

  • London at Olympia London, August 29-30, 2026
  • Miami (dates to be announced)
  • Paris (dates to be announced)

Season 001 is scheduled to include 11 total competitions across the US and Europe, with a long-term roadmap to reach 60 global events per year. XENOM holds an official CrossFit Partner Event Series license, and the backing behind it is serious: $15 million in seed funding from WndrCo, the investment firm co-founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg (DreamWorks co-founder) and Sujay Jaswa (former CFO of Dropbox).

Ready to Compete in XENOM?

Each XENOM competition is capped at 2,000 athletes, and spots are limited. The Dallas event has already sold out, but general registration is now open on the XENOM website for London, Miami, and Paris.

The early bird individual entry for XENOM is $500, and a pairs entry costs $450 per person. Since all your friends will want to come out and cheer you on, note that spectator tickets are $25 each.
